Wantirna Pool Heating Upgrade
We were contacted by the management of a multi storey apartment block about providing a permanent solution to their pool heating issues. They have been having ongoing issues with heating their 150000L pool with a traditional pool heater. We put forward a proposal to replace the pool heater with a condensing boiler heating the pool water through a titanium heat exchanger.
The owner wanted a second boiler as well as a contingency measure, so we designed a system using a pair of cascading boilers at 65kw each running through a 175kw heat exchanger. The term cascading means that while you have a full rate of 130kw when required, both boilers are constantly talking to each other to ensure maximum efficiency at all times. With the boilers having a turn down ratio of 9:1, while we have a max heat output of 130kw, this can drop as low as 7 kw. The two boilers work in unison as a master and slave arrangement so one will always be working harder than the other.
I know what your thinking, uneven wear? After 500 hours of use, the two boilers will automatically switch roles so as to constantly make the wear on them as even as possible. Pretty clever hey? This means that at any point of time maximum efficiency will be maintained, and with an efficiency of up to 110 percent there is no better gas pool/spa heating system on the market.
